The prominent Hindu pilgrimage town Pushkar has its unique charm and is only 11km from Ajmer, separated from it by rugged Nag Pahar (Snake Mountain). It curls around a holy lake, said to have appeared when Brahma dropped a lotus flower. The authentic mysticism of the town attracts a muddle of religious and recreational tourists.
